   Recently returned from a month long RV trip around the states. Another camper had a Dewalt air compressor that I tested and really liked. When I returned, I decided to purchase the model that could jump start if needed, or had other capabilities such as USB ports or 110v inverter. When I received the DeWalt jumpstart/Power station I charged it then tested. It works great. The part I really like is you set the Air to the PSI you want the tire to be, hit start and walk away. The pump will stop when it reaches the set PSI. This is also a safety feature because when putting 100PSI into these large motorhome tires, having to hold the inflater onto the valve stem can be dangerous if the tire explodes. So far I am happy with this purchase and will now carry this tool with me on my trips.

   I’ve had this product for 6 months. Bought it for in the car, when I go camping, and other random stuff. I have used this for charging up batteries, my air mattress my little polar wind fan, phone, watch, jumped vehicles multiple times in a row, even worked for 5 minutes with a window A/C! It does have a circuit protector, very nice. The only complaint I’ve had with this is when I got it, sounded like something was loose and would roll around. Forward 6 months and today I went to plug it in before I go camping, and the plug in isn’t there! Found out other people had this issue as well. So I unscrewed the unit in 2. Found out 1 screw was the rattling, and the other screw had just fallen out. They used screws that were too small. I tried putting old screws back in but towards end just not got tight. Put in some bigger screws, and I don’t think it’s gonna come back out any time soon! Hopefully product lasts a very long time. Another thing to mention. Even if unit says fully charged, unplug it and plug it back in and it’ll just for a few more hours. Battery level doesn’t always seem 100% accurate.

There was quite a bit of the negative comments… However, after the purchase, first-hand experiences and getting the in-depth understanding of the device functionality specifics, I became convinced of the device high efficiency to bring the reliable solutions to emergency situations, either during the travel or at home. Making the comparison with the numerous similar performance embodiments, taking into consideration the outlined specifications and the list of the available versatile functions, it shall be acknowledged this device shall be given the highest attention!

   I am a big fan of DeWalt, and when I saw the list of features in this device I was sold, despite the negative reviews. The first thing I tried was the compressor. My quad has a leaky tire and was basically flat. It took over 10 minutes to get to 8 psi. Eight psi. Not a typo or a missing zero. I can’t imagine how long it would take to top up a 3/4 ton truck tire. The inverter seems fine, was able to fully charge my laptop from 20% and still had 3 bars showing on the battery. No problem there. The boost function (the most important function IMO) is useless. I don’t know if it is defective or just weak, but during our current polar vortex, it made absolutely no difference when trying to boost my truck. Luckily I was at home and not stranded on a remote job site. Save yourself a headache and look elsewhere. DeWalt dropped the ball on this one.

   The connector for the loading cable fell into the device so i had to carefully disassemble the unit after a few month to reconnect it. There is no place for the charging device on the unit – easy to loose. After 2 years it doesn’t pump tires anymore and the (lead) battery pops from full to empty within seconds. Lot of money for the dozen or so times it was used.. Features are great but not a good investment in hind sight. Revision: So that is where I was a month ago. Decided to look for a better more sturdy unit and could not really find one! They all had some issues per reviews and most of them had a little less functionality. What I ended up using the unit most for was actually pumping up tires. That happens way more often than a dead battery. Very convenient to have a portable powered tire pump. This unit lets you set the pressure and then walk away- its stops by itself. It just has a lot of features and that means more things can brake. I hate to have things go to the landfill after two years. So I decided to call DeWalt and find out if they can repair it. I explained my problem and asked them if they had issues like that often and what lifespan to expect from this model. The guy said no they should last a lot longer and then said they would make a courtesy repair at no cost including shipping although the unit was just over 2 years old !!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. Just came back – they replaced it with a new one. That is old school cool in my book. Advise: (as spelled out on the unit) Always charge after use. It is heavy because it has a lead battery inside and that does not like to sit half empty for weeks. Also the charging cable that does not have a storage spot on the unit actually fits behind the battery clamps on the left side and that way might not be destined to get lost after all. Be careful and gentle when plugging the charging cable into the back because that socket can easily dislodge and fall inside. Can be fixed but requires major disassembly.

   I had been having car problems, from the converter, to the starter and even the battery. I even was lucky after hours of work, to come out to a dead battery.

   It does so much more than jumpstart, it can also inflate and be used as an emergency power back up. I now never leave home without it, it’s so portable and easy to use. Even has a light to help at late hours….
