I had to put a bit of time and effort every time I needed to tap the power of a car battery that was not mounted in a vehicle for devices that use cigarette lighter plugs. The way I did it, I used battery terminal connectors and a cigarette lighter female plug with attached wires. Takes a bit of time to secure the connectors, then ensure the wires are secured to these connectors. With these plugs that have alligator clips it is much faster to connect and disconnect the plug. Can also tap into a mounted battery without going through the car’s circuitry. Just a small, incremental life improvement that saves a few minutes on every use.
The alligator clips have strong springs for a firm contact, and are made of good quality copper. The female cigarette plug is simple and works as expected. The wires are 12 AWG, so they can safely carry 10A at 12V. The caps for the cigarette lighter plugs fit snugly, great for keeping dust out when these are not in use.
The one thing missing is some circuit protection built into these adapters: no fuse on these. Some of the devices that I have and use a cigarette lighter plug do have a fuse on their plug, others do not. It may be risky connecting a device that does not have protection on its cord. Looks important enough to me to deduct one star from the rating for these adapters.

At first glance you might not recognize how handy these little battery adapters can be. For one thing, they can be used to turn any 12V battery into a DC power station for any 12V device that uses the cigarette lighter adapter. This includes 12V accessories like heated car blankets, automotive fans and 12v USB adapters to name a few. In the attached picture, I am testing a 12v car inverter connected to the adapter which can give me extra AC power in an emergency.
More importantly, I can also use them to charge my Jackery or Bluetti Power stations directly from my larger Lifepo4 batteries using their DC charge (car) adapters, this will effectively increase their runtimes in a power outage.
Overall, these can be invaluable in an emergency and they are inexpensive. The only reason I didn’t give them higher score, is that they are rated for 10A which limits AC power to a max of 120W. I would also prefer if they had an inline fuse to protect any connected devices but I will be splicing one in at a later date for safety.
