   After about a year and half use. There are a few design flaws worth noting: 1- Minor annoyance at times, the clamp jaw hinge tends to pop apart if you are not careful. Mine have gone back together with no problems so far. Good part is the clamps are standard bolt on cable clamps and you can swap them out 2- the storage hangers on the sides are practically worthless as they will break off almost immediately if you use it at all. I trimmed off the remains and drilled a hole through the center of the hanger mount. Put in a 3/8 bolt double nutted inside and out. Fits right back in the housing and works better. 3- The unit says in manual that it should be recharged after every use and stored on charger but we all know in real life that’s not going to happen all the time. After a couple of weeks rolling around in back of truck and getting left hooked up to a machine over the weekend leaving the unit COMPLETELY DEAD. At this point you will find that the included charger cord and Onboard BMS WILL NOT RECHARGE THE BATTERIES! A fix for this is to use a NON-Inverter 4amp pulse charger hooked to the clamps (Overnight usually works, from full dead). This will get the pack back up to a voltage that will allow the charger to take back over.. Make sure to unhook the wall charger while using a separate charger. Other than that, mine still works great! It will jump start almost anything from construction equipment to your cell phone. And used as a alternative Emergency power source, it will power the 12v on my 30a RV camper all weekend. (Mostly overhead LED lights, a phone charger and a 12v fan)

   This booster has exceeded my expectations, twice. Soon after purchasing this unit I had a dead Freightliner at my shop, not expecting it to be able to start something that big I tried it anyway and the truck started up on the second try, my tech and I couldn’t believe it. The second time I used it on my shop truck which is a Silverado 4.8L that had been sitting in my lot for over a year without being started, the battery was completely dead. We hooked this bad boy up and it started on the first try, and it we -10 outside. I thought for sure I’d have to replace the battery to get it started but this booster started it without breaking a sweat. I love when something works like it’s supposed to and this thing works beyond my expectations. It’s solid, well built and I highly recommend this to anyone.

    I was really excited to get this. Our kids leave the dome lights on constantly and drain the battery. Getting stranded with three kids is no bueno. We bought this in February (it is now August) and I charged it once I got it. Thankfully, between then and now, I have not needed to use it. Until this morning when my car would not start. I pulled it out of the trunk and pressed the Status button. The status button flashed yellow and all three battery buttons were solid red. It would not jump the car. I went to get the AC adapter and plugged it into the wall; it successfully jumped the car. Got home later that day and tried charging it inside. The lights all stay solid and it never charges. Tried using the 120V in the car while it was running, and I don’t even get any lights. What an absolute waste of money. I’ve got a message into Clore Automotive, but judging by the reviews here, I’m probably wasting my time.

    I keep this is my Jeep. It works great.

    It holds a charge for a long time. It can handle the heavier duty batteries.

    I also suggest purchasing a strong bicycle lock to secure it inside your vehicle. If you are someone that has trouble lifting heavy objects, take note of the weight before you purchase. It is heavy.

    Although I wrote the above review in July 2012, I actually bought this is Sept of 2011. I have only charged it once, the day it arrived. Since, it has either been in my Jeep or in my garage. Today, the battery in my Jeep was dead from the dome light. I hooked the charger to the Jeep and it immediately cranked. Like I said, I have only charged it once, a year ago. I have used the device about a dozen times since on that one charge. I feel this item has been well worth the price. I am going to recharge today and stop pushing my luck.

    This item has been charged twice since purchase 1.5 years ago. Last time was at the end of August 2012. On Dec 26th, when the portable unit used by Security at work would not jump the battery on a large RAM 6 wheeler, I tried my booster and it cranked the RAM immediately. Continues to do a great job and keeps a charge for a very long time.

    I accidentally drained my battery by leaving the dome light active again. This jumper has not been charged since December and still had 4 lights (4 is max charge). In a two day period, I used the jumper several times in order to avoid having the idle reset. My Jeep finally reset itself and I avoided a trip to the garage. A trip that would have cost much more than the price of the jumper.

    Not been charged in one year. Jumped my Jeep instantly. I wanted to let the battery get lower before I recharged it but it just won’t die. The 12V plug has been very handy during power outages for a brief power supply. Much quieter and less fumes than the generator.
