   Very versatile. Used battery for lifting camper and restarting car a few times. Only issue I’ve had recently is battery no longer charges after one year, bought it last October. Was kept at 50% and never fully drained.

   Best investment for an emergency to support your cars and/or trucks. A necessity in your set of car tools. I have own this product, NOCO Boost X GBX75 2500A, for over two and a half years. The NOCO Boost X is the best way for jump starting vehicles. It’s flawless and easy to use. Forget the jumper cables. This unit is superior and super easy to use. It will hold a charge for years. There’s no need to constantly charge it unless you’re using it all the time. I own muscle cars and family vehicles, and the NORCO jump starter has performed perfectly when my car batteries have finally worn out. Again, it’s safe to use, easy to connect to your car, easy to operate, and it works every time I’ve used it. It works in hot (110 ° F) or freezing (23 ° F) temperatures, too. I live in those conditions, and I’ve used it near those temperatures. Flawless operation. I bought the case for the unit, which makes it easy to store. The NOCO Boost X is a small (compact) unit which has a multi-function light. Also, it has a USB port to charge accessories like a cell phone. I bought this model to support a full sized diesel pickup, which requires more amps. Highly recommended and necessary for emergency equipment.

   I have been needing a new jump starter but there have been none that could handle my diesel truck or even some of the smaller displacement engines in our other vehicles. I had been considering the previous generation NOCO jump starters but still wasn’t completely sold. Now, with the latest version and the capabilities the NOCO GBX75 has, I thought this might be able to start something with larger displacement. Additionally now that it can be charged using USB-C it can also be used as a large powerbank. I tested the included adapter to confirm that it does charge it at the advertised 60 watts and it is right at the specification. The light is very bright and should be very helpful when looking for the battery terminals in the dark. I wanted to create a worst case or at the very least a difficult test to verify the capabilities of the jump starter. Since none of my vehicles currently has a really degraded battery I decided to disconnect the battery on an early 90s Chevy pickup (4.3 liter V6) that hadn’t been started in about 8 or 9 months. Although this is a smaller displacement gas engine I thought this would be comparable when my diesel trucks batteries get weak. Typically when my diesel truck has difficulty starting is when both of the batteries are down to 50% of the original capacity or essentially one battery (800 CCA). The Chevy uses a 750 CCA battery so I’m reasoning that this would be somewhat representative. In order to jump start when there is no detectable voltage you must press and hold the “OVERRIDE” button which has a red exclamation point (!) on it. I have included a video showing the jump start. Once I engaged OVERRIDE the ignition chime in the truck started as it normally does. The truck started as if there were a battery connected! I was pretty shocked at first but in a good way. I tried it another time the following day and I got the same result. After having completed the two “worst case” jump starts the battery showed three out of bars of capacity from a full charge. (Before I tested the unit I charged it to 100%.) So I imagine that it could do maybe 4 to 6 more jump starts of this difficulty. This is great because sometimes you may not be able to get a battery replaced immediately or fix a parasitic drain from a vehicle short. In this scenario I could continue driving as normal and recharge the jumper as needed. In short I definitely recommend NOCO GBX75. None of my previous traditional battery-based or lithium-based starters could handle this test.

   This review is for NOCO Boost X GBX75 2500A 12V UltraSafe Portable Lithium Jump Starter. I’ve been a NOCO owner for years. My first NOCO was the GB40 that I had for a few years. When the GBX Series came out, I decided I wanted the USB-C connection it offered, and I prefer to have fixed cables for the jumper leads. I really only needed the GBX55 for anything that I might ever need to jump start, but I liked the longer cables and that the cables did not wrap in front of the light on the GBX75. So, the GBX75 won me over. It offers 2,500A for jump starting power, and it doubles as a battery pack. It also features a very nice light. I went with NOCO over the other brands, because all the consumer and professional testing I saw put NOCO at the top for jump starting vehicles. That’s not to say all others are bad, but I wanted compact and the best jump starter I could get. Other brands do offer more features though, such as more USB connections and/or built-in air compressor. So, there are pros/cons of the brand you choose, and you have to decided what features are important to you. I also purchased the matching NOCO GBC103 case. The case is very good quality, and the GBX75 fits perfectly in it. It fits all the accessories, but the case really is a lot bigger than it needs to be. As much as I like my NOCO Boost X GBX75, I have noticed I can’t get it to a full 100% charge. It appears that that when it is fully charged the green light should become solid. Even having it charge over night the most I get is blinking green for the light. Out of the box it came with about a 50% charge. There are also some things that I would like to have seen on this booster. I would like to see a voltage readout like they have on the GB150, and I would like to see the instructions printed on the top of the device. There is so much blank space on the top of the device that it would have been very easy to print the instructions on it. It has a little sticker on it that says to start vehicle within 60 seconds and power off/on to reset, but it’s only a sticker than can peel off. It also doesn’t give you instructions about the override button. Again, there is tons of real estate on the device to give clear directions. Also, they charge a lot for the accessories. I would have liked to have seen a bundle package that saved you some money.
