   I have not yet had the opportunity to use this to jump a very dead, very cold battery, but I immediately like how lightweight this is. The cables themselves are a bit cheap-feeling, and very lightweight. I don’t know that I’d put much current through them. The advertised current just seems…high. I’m not saying it isn’t accurate, just that the cables make my eye twitch when I look at that number. Still, it’s all very lightweight and portable, which is exactly what I want and need. I wish there were a better way to charge it, though, as it isn’t much use if it’s not fully charged, and it doesn’t come with what you’d need to power it from another vehicle’s power adapter. So if you have this with you and the battery is low, it feels like you’re out of luck unless you have a set of regular jumper cables, as well. I’m also finding it a bit hard to charge overall, as it includes a cable only and no adapter. Anywhere I’ve tried plugging it in to charge (including 2.0A adapters) seems to charge it very, very slowly.

   All this said, my primary use for this will be to take care of flats or dead batteries in my lawn equipment, which is out in the shed and away from any vehicle access. For that, it’s a decent buy!

   Great tool to have around. Works great as a power supply to charge your phone when the power goes out. Works very well as a jump starter and air pump also.

   I got the Ampbank battery pack to be able to jump my Cherokee Trailhawk with the 2.0 liter turbo engine. Cherokee’s are notorious for eating batteries. Unluckily, when the Cherokee died in the cold weather, the Ampbank failed to jump it, even when the “boost” button on the side was pushed. It has a nice bright flashlight that can flash either white or red and it can be used to raise tire pressure (at least for auto tires – I haven’t tried it yet on my 100psi motorhome), and it looks nice and isn’t that heavy, but I can’t rely on it to jump start. As an update, it does jump start my car when the battery is not fully discharged.

   This AP3000 battery jump starter has multiple uses, all which will be vital in emergency situations. In addition to being able to charge a low or dead vehicle battery , 12v lead- acid battery, in a timely manner, it can be used as an air compressor to fill vehicle tires, bicycle tires , basketballs, and any inflatable like pool floats. On the bottom of the charger is a hidden slot if you slide the cover open you will find extra tips to use for inflating or adding air to a variety of inflatables, tires, etc. Another great thing about this is that it has a flashlight with high lumen LEDS, can be used as a strobe/SOS, red light. It charges multiple devices very fast , ie , phones, tablets. It’s easy to use , has a bright digital display that’s easy to read , it also has handles that make it easy to carry , and the handles simply fold flush to the device to make it compact for easy storage. This charger has so many functions on it , you don’t really need anything else, as it can accommodate charging a variety of devices in addition to a vehicle battery, inflate tires and other inflatable, has a bright led flashlight and SOS light, so I’m definitely keeping this fully charged at all times and keeping it in my car in case of emergency. I live in Florida and it is always humid and hot here, so I will bring it inside with me when I know I won’t be driving my car for any period of time. It may be ok in the trunk , but I wouldn’t take the chance with the heat, as I’ve noticed some of my other devices like air pumps , that I’ve stored in my trunk, seem to lose their charge a lot faster when stored in the hot trunk. But because it is not heavy and has easy carry handles, it’s not a big deal to bring it inside and take it back out when im going somewhere. I haven’t needed it to jump start my vehicle battery yet, as I’ve got a brand new battery in my car, so unfortunately I can’t comment on the charging time for a 12V car battery, but when I do need to jump start mine or anyone else’s, I’ll definitely come back and update this.

   This is one of those items you don’t need it till you neeed it. I have tried a couple of the starter type but never the combination of starter and air compressor. I am ready when the need presents itself. I have not used this iter but have checked the operation and completely charghed it. With all I read on this and others this is a good one/
