   This portable jump starter is an essential item for everyone. It’s compact, lightweight and user-friendly. Besides jump-starting vehicles, it can charge your phone (wirelessly I might add) and doubles as a flashlight. Charging is quick and convenient with a USB-C cable, which means you can even charge it in your car. I used it to jump-start my grandma’s car, and despite its small size, it worked flawlessly, starting the car instantly.    It’s an 800A max, so this won’t be good for a truck or anything larger. For that you’ll want at least a 2000A powered pack. That said it’s a great value and I like the addition of wireless charging capability. I’d say if you have a sedan or smaller car then it’s a good choice without spending unnecessary money to have as a backup in case one day your battery has died on you. Another side note is that it does not come with a carrying case.

   We have a car in our yard that hasn’t run in a long time and my husband thought that the only problem was that the battery dead. However, it has been at our home for a long time like this and when I saw I had a chance to review this jump box, it was all he thought we would need get the car up and running. This jump box helped us do just that–and made it so very easy. When the jump box arrived, we made sure it was fully charged before we used it. I always like an item to have a full charge the first time I use it- and we used the C-charging cable which is included, to do this. Then my husband hooked the two cables with clips up (the red and blue ones) to the spots for them on the jump box, and hooked the ends of the cables up with the car, turning the jump box on and jumping the car. The entire fix was so easy and fast, I couldn’t believe it- and luckily, my husband had been right about the car problem- it had only been the battery. So this jump box fixed a big issue for us. We have had other items like this and compared to them, this felt and functioned like the solidly made item it is. The box does have the smallest amount of weight to it, however it is still easy to transport and use. There are also directions included for the item- so that if you have never used a jump box or give this item as a gift- you have the knowledge of how it works at your fingertips. However there was a slight downfall as the jump box does not come with any case to easily store the item. But we plan to keep it in the box it came in, which is nice enough, as we don’t use it much and really, is only there for emergencies. Plus, if that keeps a price down on an item, I always think that’s the best thing- as a person can usually solve a problem like that easily- even with storage boxes or bags they have around the home. Personally I think jump boxes like this are very important- as they can help someone out of some sticky and dangerous situations while on the road. I always encourage those with young and old loved ones who drive to look into a jump box for them. Having an item like this in their car can provide them with some real protection. Even knowing that some of the elderly drivers that I love have a jump box in their car (that came from me ;), provides me with the greatest sense of comfort! I highly recommend this item as I found it to function, feel and provide me with a great sense of comfort for either my husband and I (if we keep it)- or whomever we give it to (if we end up giving it away, seeing someone in our life that needs it more than we do ;).

   I got this jump starter, or backup booster as I like to call them, to keep on my boat. I use a maintainer on the battery to keep it topped off while I’m not using it, but like to be prepared for times when the battery might get weak or we run it down while out on the water and you are truly alone. That’s the same reason I have jump starters like this in all vehicles I own and urge my family to do the same.
   To test this one, I used it to start an old Bronco I own but don’t drive any longer. The battery was weak and measured 10.8v. It started it just fine.
   The only thing I would have liked is a pouch or carrying bag to keep this in. It’s has a degree of waterproofness but isn’t water resistant. Since I will keep it on my boat (very near water and rain), I’ve put it in a gallon ziplock style bag.
