Right out of the box the battery was fully charged. The unit seems intuitive to use, by and large.
The car battery in my daughter’s car happened to start failing just after we got this item, so she had the chance to use the jumper function twice before we replaced the battery in the car. Both times this unit worked perfectly. She was able to safely operate this product without assistance and get her car started without having to ask a stranger for help or being stranded late at night, or in a remote place. The peace of mind that comes with having this as a backup is a phenomenal, especially for the female drivers in my family.
To be fair, I haven’t tried the compressor function of this unit, but my experience is that these small units really struggle to develop enough pressure to come up with the 30-40 PSI needed to inflate a car tire, especially a tire with significant volume. It seems like they usually overheat or break when trying to get a car tire up to pressure. Honestly, I wouldn’t count on it. In an extreme pinch, I’d try it, but wouldn’t expect it to work well, especially on battery power. I got this for its jumpstart capability, and I’ve been very happy with it!

It does do a good job filling up your car tires, basketball and other things to that nature. Just got to pick what you’re filling up, how much PSI you want into your tires or ball? Turn it on and let it fill up.. but if you’re in a rush to fill up your car tires don’t expect it to be fast like a high end air compressor. It does the job, but it’s gonna take time. And it’s gonna take even longer to do all four. don’t have your tires filled up in five minutes and be on the road with this machine. it gets the job done you better make sure you have a lot of time ahead of you to get all four tires filled
