   My wife insisted that I install this on her 2015 Outback as her mother had issues with this wagon draining it’s battery from non use. I did not feel the need for this as the car was getting regular use, that was until last month. Installed over a year ago, no issues, took a extended vacation this month, 22 day, came back to a completely dead car. Priority Start unit was making some noise, but no reengagement. Jumped car direct to top poles and ran for hour, still dead to start on own. Removed unit, jumped and drove, now starts like it should. Out of Warrantee, should have somehow tested the unit with some drain test when I got it.

   Seems to work well. Friends older civic has a viper alarm that drained her battery quickly when the car was not in use. I installed this and at the worst she has to make her radio favorites and set her clock. I did try to call Priority start using the number on their website, and the one in the packaging and never got an answer. It was before 5 PST on a Friday though. Anyways, if you need to jump the car, jump to the terminal of the battery and not through the priority start, as in not connecting jumper cables to the priority starts positive terminal, but rather to the batteries positive terminal.

   I wrote a previouse bad review on this unit. I have since contacted the company that make them and found out that thier phone system was messed up is why they didn’t call me back and didn’t receive my calls. I have 3 of these priority start devices on my vehicles and so far has saved me a dead battery 3 times & being stranded. There is a reason the gov is putting them on thier vehicles. They work.

   Update – Sept 2012 — The Battery Protector – protected my battery

   Wife tried to open up car, no power, she opened trunk with key, that put current to the battery protector, that put battery back on line, opened car, car started, worked like a champ.
   This car has a tendency to not shut off a relay, somewhere in car, the battery protector worked, money well spent.

   Installed item on car, so far working as advertised.
   Have not had a problem with a battery drain yet, so can not say that item has protected the battery yet.
   However I am sure it will, this car likes to surprise me every now and again.
   Battery on this car is in trunk, and space is limited, was able to make it fit, in my case the cable being a few inches longer would have helped, but it is OK.
   Seems to be quality product.

   Fonctionne comme la description, je n’utilise pas mon auto souvent et apres 10 jours et plus sans demarrer je devais la booster.
   Cette piece a bien fonctionné, mis clef a on + levier signal et soudain le tableau de bort s’est eclairé, attendu une dizaine de seconds pour laisser l’ordinateur de bord se remettre en fonction et j’etait capable de demarrer sans booster.

   Battery had died in my 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser. I bought a new battery at Walmart, but within about 4 days after I put the new battery in it died. I charged it up, but it was dead again within another 3 days. I started researching why, and a parasitic drain was likely the cause. That lead me to a comment in a news group for land cruisers to this Priority Start product. Putting this on would prevent the battery from draining below 11.7 volts. So I returned my now dead battery and got a replacement new one. I put that in along with the Priority Start (photos attached) and I have not had any issues since… We have driven the Land Cruiser at least every 3 days, so for now, the Priority Start has not had to engage. I know since we have not lost our Trip A and Trip B values from the Odometer, and Radio Settings have not reset. I will know for sure in a few weeks after it sits for a week without being started. Only real drawback will be losing the Trip A/B and Radio Presets. Trip bring the primary issue since our Fuel Guage is unreliable and I just reset Trip B for every fillup and I know when I get to about 270 miles on the Trip B meter, its time to fill up. I now will note the mileage from the odometer and do the math just in case the battery does die. So far, good product, will know for sure by the end of February if it kicks in and cuts off the Battery and allows a good restart.
